Kelly Greene is the Vice-President of Event Management for Medalist Sports. In this role, Greene oversees Medalist's daily event operations, including both internal project management and external client communications.
Her responsibilities include oversight of the event venue selection process, event budget oversight, development of proposal documents, venue/host city selection, contract negotiation, execution of venue requirements and facilitating city and state agency relationships.
Kelly's role also includes direction of the local organizing committees and the functional areas of event planning, including: logistics, grassroots marketing/promotions, media operations, sponsorship fulfillment, volunteers, accreditation, vendor relations, concessions, ancillary events, Expo integration, insurance/risk management and contract execution and compliance.
Prior to joining Medalist Sports, Greene was a Publicist for Turner Sports Public Relations, a division of Turner Broadcasting System, Inc. in Atlanta. In her position, Greene developed communications strategies to promote Turner Sports programming on TNT, TBS and Turner South, including the NBA, NASCAR, professional golf, college football, Atlanta Thrashers hockey and Major League Baseball programming. Greene handled media requests, executive and announcer interviews, including NBA legends Charles Barkley and Magic Johnson and baseball announcers Skip Caray and Don Sutton. In addition, she served as the publicity point person for Turner Sports Interactive, which included NASCAR.com and PGA.com.
Before joining Turner Sports, Kelly was a Communications Coordinator for Turner Network Sales, the sales and marketing arm of Turner Broadcasting System, Inc. for cable affiliates. In this role, she created public relations strategies to promote the company's 11 domestic networks on the distribution front and coordinated network talent appearances and movie screenings.
Prior to Turner Broadcasting System, Inc., Greene was a Sales and Marketing Consultant for Integrated Sports Marketing, Inc. in San Diego, CA. In this capacity, she developed marketing campaigns for ISM's Celebrity Golf Tournaments (CPT Tour), managed the press outreach with key industry contacts and managed sponsorship sales and fulfillment.
During the 1997-1999 NFL seasons, Greene served as Media Relations Coordinator for the San Diego Chargers football club, where she organized player community charity events, created and distributed press releases and assisted in the coordination of player/coach press conferences and interviews.
Kelly graduated with honors from the University of Georgia with her Master's degree in Sport Management in 2001 and her Bachelor's degree in Journalism in 1999.
She was an All-Conference athlete on the women's Track and Field team for the University of Georgia, competing in Middle Distance and Cross-Country. She was a recipient of the Athletic Director's Academic Scholar Award.
